Do Americans mention their dogs when describing themselves?

Yes! In 2022, dog was the 216th most popular word (out of 16,470) within US Twitter bios. That ranks dog above cat (305th) and way above snake (8744th).

In the figure below, you'll see the prevalence of dog within bios generally increased over time. It's the same story for dog mom and dog dad. Dogs edged out cats as well.
