There is a fine line between AI being something we can utilize to enhance human lives & giving too much power to an entity in control of so many things

I feel that using it can be helpful for the average person but I think there needs to be more development to make sure what is going out there can be trusted.

I think that AI is amazing for helping for research purposes but it can also be dangerous when it comes to altering reality with news sources, deepfakes, and other things. It is getting harder to decipher what is real from what is fake.

AI is similar to nuclear capabilities in one important respect, that of potential impact on society. AI as a tool has the potential for immeasurable good though it is unclear about the longer term effects beyond improving productivity, relieving people of mundane and more challenging tasks, and serving strategic capabilities of government (including military and delivery of critical services) and organizations whether for profit or not for profit. Conversely, it can be used for disinformation and misinformation, weaponized to control vital societal processes, and through ill-design and hubris can engage in deficient or misguided decision making at the executive function level of AI systems.

There is no way to stop the development so it is best to examine it closely and legislate it.

I think new technology can be useful and should be developed and explored. However, we also need to take care as to do so in a responsible way.

I find formats such as ChatGPT to be highly useful when I need quick answers. It's much easier to use it rather than typing in questions in Google and then sifting through them. However, there is much improvement needed for accuracy, which is why it should be improved.

I think the way that AI is developing and the way it is creating huge data centers in every town is a HUGE RED FLAG! it’s making water a resource that is scarce which is insane to say in 2026. I don’t think the technology is sustainable for our planet, for the well being of kids and adults. I think it is something that should be used sparingly and responsibly. Which I don’t think is possible so I don’t see it going well.

I personally feel like ther are so many risks to continuing to develop AI. I think we should keep their capabilities as basic as possible. I was initially more supportive but my concerns have been growing.

We are devoting too many resources to something that does not directly benefit the people. In additional, many data centers and utilities used by large multi-billion dollar corporations are coming out of tax payer dollars and using public utilities "free of charge". It makes it feels like we the people are being exploited to promote corporate profits.

I do agree that artificial intelligence should be further developed, because I do see that there are useful and convenient places for AI to help with human efficiency. AI can be a good tool if used for the right reasons. It is used to advance technology, or make processes flow more easily and more quickly than it is good. However, if it is used for things that are not good and that could potentially bring harm to people or society, then it should not be further developed.

I just don't trust AI. I understand it's technology, but I feel like technology shouldn't know more than a human. It also sounds like a lot of questions people ask AI is coming sense information.

I support further developing certain algorithms, as long as regulations are implemented. I do not support further development of LLMs as they currently exist, given that they need to be fed massive amounts of data that mostly has not been consented to be fed into said models. Same with AI art programs--most of the data they have been fed has not been consented by the original creators to be included in the data sets, and as long as that continues to be the case, I do not support the models' further development.

I definitely support further development of AI, but with certain restrictions put in place. AI development shouldn't be ike the wild wild West.

I think use of AI for the medical field to study and process vast amounts of information that could be too hard or take years for researchers to poor through the data could lead to big breakthroughs and allow researchers to have more time to do other tests aswell. But for artwork I'm opposed since it uses stolen data to make the images. If the artists agreed to let them use their artwork that would be another story and I would have no issues with it's further development.
