Social Science Dashboard Inator
Social science should be built on persistent, consistent measurement. Data collection and analysis should be transparent processes. The Social Science Dashboard Inator integrates these principles, with the added benefits of standardization and automation.
Persistent
Continuous measurement instead of one-off studies.
Consistent
A single operationalization with repeated measurement.
Transparent
Shared microdata, downloadable analysis scripts.
Standardized
One file, standard column structure.
Automated
Easy setup. New data arrives in your email inbox every day. Analysis scripts re-run while you sleep.
How to Implement Your Own Inator
Hosted Solution
Easy for you:
- You provide survey items (and dollars, optionally).
- The next day, response data begins to accumulate.
- A cumulative data file arrives in your email inbox once per day.
- No programming, no APIs, not even survey software necessary.
- Response volume will scale with your spend, but a free tier will exist.
Difficult for me:
- I am applying for funding that will speed development and expand the size of samples at the free tier.
- If no grants are awarded, I will deploy a version funded by JJJ Productions in December 2025.
Do-it-Yourself Solution
Easy for me:
- I will upload the code that creates AI Daily by Jason Jeffrey Jones Productions to GitHub.
- I will write a guide to make a working copy and modifications for your survey.
- This will be available before the end of August 2025.
Difficult for you:
- You will clone the repository.
- You will provision a server.
- You will create a Qualtrics survey and link it to a Prolific account.
- You will do configuration and light coding.
- Eventually, your daily survey and online dashboard will work like the examples here.
